Going through my old Flash files, I stumbled across an early version of this image, which I first produced in 2005. I didn’t know how to make it look realistic then, but I’ve since been given lots of good advice from Rory Clark. This new version was produced in Inkscape and aged in The GIMP.

In case you’re wondering, these were all real IBA Transmitters.

Doing my pennants…

I often spend idle half hours looking around flickr for anything of interest. The other day I found a very nice Anglia logo from 1959. Obviously, I couldn’t resist recreating it in Inkscape while I was listening to a pod-cast:

This stylised Anglia pennant logo formed the basis of Anglia Television’s original end-caps, including the one seen on their opening program.
